Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate startups that have extraordinary potential
  • Evaluating investment opportunities
  • Conduct due diligence
  • Negotiate and manage deal structuring
  • Engage with stakeholders in the San Francisco Bay area, including portfolio companies, current and potential co-investors, current and potential Venture Partners, and current and potential Limited Partners

Key Qualifications

  • Meaningful early-stage investment experience working directly with companies
  • Strong existing network in the Bay Area
  • Thrives working independently

Community Manager Washington, DC

The Community Manager will work to ensure that our 900+ Venture Partners are engaged throughout their experience with NextGen. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial spirit who loves learning about people and is eager to have dozens of touchpoints with our investor community every day. The successful applicant will have excellent people and communications skills, a service mentality, and be able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships and facilitate connections between Venture Partners
  • Communicate with Venture Partners about investment interests
  • Educate Venture Partners about ongoing activities, making sure to answer questions
  • Engage with Venture Partners around investment review committees
  • Collect, track, and manage data about Venture Partners
  • Create content for and about Venture Partners, specifically, but not limited to, newsletters, twitter, and custom-built Facebook-style platform
  • Ensure ongoing, meaningful touchpoints with each Venture Partner

​Key Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment, successfully engaging a large number of individuals at any given time
  • Superior service skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, and an orientation towards the achievement of team goals
  • Outstanding skills in organization, time management, multi-tasking, prioritization, problem solving, and self-motivation
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Capable of prioritizing and executing multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
