Jon Bassett


Prior to NextGen, Jon was a Principal at Silverton Partners, a $250M Austin-based fund where he led deal-sourcing and due diligence. A graduate of Davidson College, Jon has an extensive background in public equity finance and early-stage investing, including experience with Draper Fisher Jurvetson and as an Instructor at USC Marshall School of Business.

Ben Bayat


Prior to NextGen, Ben was a Partner at Illuminate Ventures, a seed stage firm based in the Bay Area. He started his career as a data scientist at IBM before moving into executive positions in Engineering & Sales. Ben holds a BS degree in Physics & Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.

Noor Chaudhry


Noor Chaudhry is NextGen's Platform Associate. She is responsible for onboarding Venture Partners to NextGen and communicating one on one with Venture Partners about their investment interests. Prior to joining the firm, Noor worked at the Social Sector Accelerator where she scaled philanthropic organizations and raised investments in the social sector.

Deborah Chu


Before joining NextGen, Deborah was a public equities investor at AllianceBernstein and gained experience in early-stage investing at Aquiline. Deborah holds a BS from Cornell and an MBA from The Wharton School.

Brett Gibson


Prior to NextGen, Brett was in corporate development at LivingSocial, a venture-backed ecommerce firm. A graduate of the Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia, Brett has an extensive background in investing and acquisitions, including experience with The Carlyle Group. Brett currently serves in the Army National Guard and he's qualified as a U.S. Army Ranger.

Chris Keller


Prior to NextGen, Chris was founder and CEO of, an email productivity service acquired by Argon Technologies. He also ran the Labs division at HubSpot and co-founded Fafarazzi, the world's first online fantasy entertainment league. Chris has been an active angel investor and supporter of the Boston startup ecosystem.

Dan Mindus


Dan Mindus is a Managing Partner at NextGen Venture Partners. Before founding NextGen, Dan was a Vice President at the New Vantage Group, an early-stage investing firm in Washington, DC. Dan has been included four times on Washingtonian magazine's list of 100 DC Tech Titans. He started his career at the Gerson Lehrman Group, an investment research firm in New York City. He holds a BA from Yale and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Corinne Smeriglio


Prior to joining NextGen, Corinne worked at Venturehouse Group, a DC based Venture Capital firm. Corinne graduated with a degree in Marketing from Radford University.
